Toilet Training

Today's topic is entitled Toilet Training.. To non mummies, plz bear with this topic as it may should pretty yucky to you as it may contain poo poo and pee pee.... To mummies, this will benefit you so read carefully!!!! These are all passed down to me from either my babysitter or my mum and even experienced mummies... Myths and legend might be eliminated here...


1. Poo poo Training

When comes to training of poo poo, i know some mummies(like Priscilla), will have mani concern like "train onli when the kid know how to walk", "aiya, poo in the diapers lor", "no need train lar, kids will know automatically"....etc.. Plz mummies, abandon all these concepts behind!! The later u train ur kids to poo poo in potty/toilet, the later the kid will noe how to use the toilet... By den, ur kids will resist the toilet.. Get it?

My personal experience.... I got my babysitter to train Jayden to poo poo in the potty when he is abt 6 to 8 mths old.. I couldn't remember clearly lar... By den he could alreadi sit still, but still, an adult is needed to hold him to sit on the potty, so that he wun fall back... Den as u sit behind him, start to make those "mmmmmmmm...... mmmmmmmm......" sound.. 1st time trying will take a long time, but be veri veri veri patient... Babies are trying to get used to all these so dun force them... Try it in the morning after breakfast if possible.. If morning nothing, den afternoon... Try not to drag on until after 6pm..

Try it on everyday, ur baby will noe tat, "hey, it's time for me to poo poo le!" For Jayden, he noe how to poo poo in potty even b4 he turn 1... But he is veri resistant to potty.. After communicating with the babysitter, she told me tat, she got her youngest son to show Jayden how to poo poo in the toilet... From den on, i bought a kid toilet seat and let Jayden poo poo in the toilet bowl lor... No choice.. We have tried all ways to let him poo in the potty but of no result.. Ending result, he cry more than he poo... Haiz... Now, he is a happi baby lar... Juz tat his pattern veri funni one...

Whenever he wants to poo poo, he will start to "dance" ard the whole house.. Den we will start to monitor.. When he is abt to poo, we will pull down his diaper and put him on the toilet seat den start to mmmm.... him to poo...

Note to all mummies: If you are not the one taking care of ur baby, u will need the co-operation from the caregiver, eg: MIL, maid, babysitter...etc If they do not co-operate with u, the result will be NIL....

You can 1st invest in a potty to train him... I know some mummies will buy those poo poo storybooks to encourage the kid to poo

2: Pee pee Training

Ok.. Now topic 2 and final topic... I onli got my babysitter to train Jayden how to pee pee on Monday, 21st July 2008... The reason being is, i will be sending him to playgroup next yr Jan at my mum's place... Den their request is to have the kid fully toilet train.. So have to do so lor... Bo bian..

A remedy for pee pee training from my babysitter.. To let them pee pee in the potty,

1)In the morning when they wake up
2)When they bathe in the morning
3)Before they slp at nite...

In between, if you are able to let them pee pee, all the better lar... Den ytd nite, Jayden successfully pee into the potty!! Lolx... i veri happi lor... Coz he told me that he wan "xiao bian".. Den i tried to "shhh shhh" him to pee, but nothing came out.. So i sat down and waited(i was squatting at 1st).. Who knows, after waiting for like less than 1 min, he peed!! Lolx... so happi... yup... this will continue on.. whether is at my mil side or my mum's... To get him to get use to pee-ing without the diaper...

Some might ask, how abt in the middle of the nite.. Hmm... This depend on u.. If you wan to wake him up in the middle of the nite to pee pee, oso can... But Jayden for now, i wun lor.. juz let him wear diaper and slp thru the nite... Partly oso i wan to slp lar... Lolx...
